User:FTAdmin
Hi, I'm Laura Gjovaag, the administrator of this page. I'm not hard to reach by email and other means. If you absolutely must reach me, there are plenty of ways to try, including emailing at "scans at the domain ft dot gjovaag dot com". My name with a dot com appended and an "@" sign between first and last is also a working email.
I'm doing this mostly for myself. I like indexing stuff. I enjoy the process of rereading and finding information and re-digesting it later. Naturally, I want every issue of FT so I can re-read them all, but I'm not so rich I'll be able to get them. So I'll be trying to get my hands on issues as I finish with the issues I currently have... which may take me quite some time. If you see "tegan" bidding on eBay.com, that's me.
If you want to help... before binning old issues, contact me to see if I want them. I'll pay shipping if I can afford it. If you have issues and don't want to part with them, a photo of the contents page will give me a basic index until I can get the issue myself.

My reviews of Fortean Times can be found at Bloggity-Blog-Blog-Blog, and go back to 2008.
Letters
I have had two letters to the editor published in Fortean Times. The first was in FT192 and the second in FT339.
FT192 - "Gang initiation rites" - a letter in response to a Strangedays piece in FT189:12 about flashing or dimming headlights at a car with no headlights on. The urban legend was that gang members were intentionally driving around with their lights off after dark and picking people who flashed or dimmed their lights at them as targets to murder/rob/follow. The initial story had the origin date as 1993, but it was making the rounds long before that.
FT339 - "Rachel's Challenge" - a letter describing my experience as a reporter covering an anti-bullying student event. It seems to me that certain stories, when stripped of religious overtones, are distinctly fortean. I was attempting to convey that feeling.
Shipping in the United States
For quite some time, there have been problems getting Fortean Times in a timely manner in the US. This is why I like having a digital option for a backup. I have recorded some of the dates I received my copies of FT for posterity. There was a serious issue with shipping in 2009-10, and for awhile I was recording when every issue arrived.
